VISHAL CHOUDHURY

Vishal Choudhury is a Research Intern at the Institute of Chinese Studies. He has completed his schooling from Welham Boys School (1995-2006), then joined St. Xavier's College, Autonomous (Kolkata) to pursue B.Sc in Economics (Honors) (2007-2010). He then completed his M.A. in Development Economics from the South Asian University (SAARC) (2012-2014). For his Masters he wrote a dissertation titled 'Understanding the Transformation of the Chinese Economy: The Core Periphery Paradigm and the Society.' To further his understanding of the Chinese economy and society he left for another masters program (International Master's in Public Administration) at the prestigious Renmin University of China (2014-2016).  His primary interest is in the Chinese Economy. He is currently working on a paper on the internationalization of the renminbi (the title still to be decided) and consequently working on another project that looks to analyze the trade and investment between India and China and the future prospects for such co-operation (title to be decided). His long term interests is to look in to the theoretical grounding of rationality within Theoretical Economics within a Chinese perspective and its possible assimilation with the Political Economy theory.
