Amitava Banik Research Intern at the Institute of Chinese Studies. He is an engineer and management professional. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electronics & Communication from Visveswariah Technological University (VTU), Belgaum (Karnataka) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Insurance Business from Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Greater Noida (UP).He is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India (FIII). He has about 14 years of rich professional experience spanning across diverse sectors ranging from engineering to insurance with leading multinational and Indian companies. He has keen interest in the comparative study of China and India on the aspects of economy, welfare and development parameters, industry,trade and commerce, etc. He is presently working on a research paper on “Trade between China and East and North East Indian states”. He has presented papers in several seminars and writes blogs and articles on management, economics, international studies, Sociology and related areas.
