AKSHAY BHAMBRI

Akshay Bhambri is a M.Phil. Research Scholar at Department of Political Science, University of Delhi. His research is titled “Healing Politics: Politics of Knowledge of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry in the Post Open Door Period.” He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from University of Delhi. He has experience of rigorous fieldwork and research in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi on the wide range of issues such as water, rural sanitation and hygiene and elections. He has presented several papers and published papers. His research interests include Public Policy, Public Health, Politics of Traditional and Alternative Knowledge Systems and Critical Development Studies.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the fragility of public health systems all around the world. The failure of public health system on curative front has exhibited that there is a need of integrating diverse medical systems and practices into the mainstream public health systems to make them holistic.
