  1. Administrative cum Programme Officer

Qualifications:

The candidate must have a master’s degree from a recognized university with 5 years minimum work experience in a government or non-governmental organization. Preference will be given to those who have worked in a research institute.

The position is on a one-year contract, extendable. Salary and other emoluments will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  1. Fellow:

Qualifications:

The candidate should be a creative scholar in the study of Chinese politics and foreign relations or has researched extensively on India-China relations; or the Chinese economy and China’s international economic relations.

The candidate must have Ph.D or M.Phil in any social science discipline with an East Asia focus from any recognized Indian or foreign university.

Competence in Chinese language and in the utilization of Chinese source materials for research would be an additional asset.

The application must include:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Research Proposal (maximum 2000 words) stating the purpose of the research, its relevance, research questions and literature review etc. on the subject matter
  • Two confidential letters of reference- sent separately and addressed to Director, ICS
  • Two published writing samples (Research articles preferably in refereed journals)
  • List of Articles/ Books/ Monographs published

Research deliverables can be mutually agreed after discussion with the Director. The position will be on a one-year contract, extendable. Salary and other emoluments will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

3. Institute of Chinese (ICS) New Delhi is inviting applications for 2 positions in an ICSSR funded project titled “Delimiting the Northern Frontiers of British India: A Study of Colonial India’s Border- making Project vis-a-vis China (1890-1947).” The project will entail extensive archival research.

VACANCIES

  1. Research Associate
    Duration: 
    1 year (Extendable upon good performance)

Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria:

  • MA in History/East Asian Studies/ International Relations with (minimum 55%) with NET/M.Phil/PhD.
  • Candidate should be experienced with working in the Archives.
  • Skills in Tibetan and Chinese is desirable.

Consolidated Remuneration: A consolidated remuneration of Rs 20,000/- will be paid per month.

 

  1. Research Assistant
    Duration: 1 year (Extendable upon good performance)

Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria:

  • MA in History/ East Asian Studies:
  • MA/M.Phil/PhD in History/East Asian Studies/ International Relations with minimum 55%.
  • Candidate should have experience of working in the Archives.
  • Skills in Tibetan and Chinese is desirable.

Consolidated Remuneration: A consolidated remuneration of Rs 15,000/- will be paid per month.

Preference will be given to candidate having prior experience in conducting archival research. The decision of the Selection Committee will be final.

1. Research Associate  (One) M.Phil/Ph.D Candidate
    Duration: 1 year (Extendable upon satisfactory output)

 Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria:

  • MA in Chinese Studies /International Relations/East Asian Studies/American Studies with (minimum 55%) with NET
  • The candidate should be experienced with working with Chinese language sources.

Consolidated Remuneration: A consolidated remuneration of Rs 20,000/- will be paid per month.

 

2. Research Assistants (One)  M.Phil/Ph.D Candidate
   Duration: 1 year (Extendable upon satisfactory output)

Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria:

  • MA in Chinese Studies /International Relations/East Asian Studies/American Studies with (minimum 55%) with NET
  • The candidate should be experienced with working with Chinese sources.  

Consolidated Remuneration: A consolidated remuneration of Rs 15,000/- will be paid per month.

Preference will be given to candidate having prior experience in working on Research Projects and with some understanding of international political economy.

The decision of the Selection Committee will be final.
