Shilpa Sharma was a Research Assistant at the Institute of Chinese Studies. She has obtained her undergraduate and masters in History. She completed her M.Phil in Chinese Studies from the Department of East Asian Studies, University of Delhi. In 2014, she was awarded the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship to study Chinese at National Taiwan University for a year.
