Abstract

India has been seeing an upsurge in monetary inflows from outside the country in various forms especially FDI in recent times. Foreign Direct Investment is considered a crucial component for boosting economy’s growth. With India being earmarked as one of the economies with immense potential to grow because of its favourable demographic dividend, foreign investments play a very key role. This presentation throws light on the routes of Foreign Investments, with special emphasis on Private Equity and Joint ventures in India by Chinese companies and Government bodies. China possesses high level of liquidity compared to India. However, even though their investment in India has started increasing, China still isn’t one of the highest investing countries. The presentation intends to reason out the beginning of this investment trend, as well as draw a comparison between the Chinese and US Private Equity firms and their deals made with Indian Companies.
